Patience

Galatians 6 places this encouragement within Paul’s teaching about life in the Spirit: restoring others gently, carrying burdens, examining our own work, sharing with teachers, and sowing what pleases God. “Doing good” is therefore not a vague call to stay busy, but faithful love shaped by Christ. The harvest is God’s responsibility and arrives in his “due season,” not ours. Paul does not promise immediate results or an easy path; he calls believers to steady obedience without surrender. Because Christ has already secured our acceptance, we do not labor to earn God’s favor. We persevere from grace, trusting the faithful God who sees every Spirit-led seed.

Our generation is trained to expect immediate results: quick promotions, instant replies, visible growth, effortless relationships, and rapid financial progress. Digital noise makes comparison almost unavoidable, so another person’s highlight reel can make our ordinary faithfulness feel fruitless. Anxiety then asks whether our work matters, whether relationships will heal, or whether responsible choices will ever produce stability. Galatians 6:9 does not dismiss those pressures. It reminds us that God’s timing cannot be measured by notifications, applause, income, or public milestones. Some good work remains hidden for a long time. In Christ, unseen obedience is never wasted, even when its fruit develops slowly or differently than we expected.

Today, identify one good thing you are tempted to abandon simply because results are delayed. It may be praying for someone, serving faithfully, repairing a relationship, working honestly, managing money wisely, or setting a healthy boundary around digital noise. Ask whether this action agrees with Scripture and reflects Christ’s love; perseverance is not stubbornly continuing what God never assigned. Then take one manageable next step without demanding immediate proof that it worked. Rest when needed, receive help, and refuse to confuse weariness with failure. Write Galatians 6:9 somewhere visible, and let “due season” remind you that waiting is not wasted when your life is entrusted to God.
